Matthew McConaughey marries Camila Alves
Matthew Mcconaughey married his long-time girlfriend Camila Alves this weekend, in an intimate ceremony described by Entertainment Tonight as an “island beach meets Texas” theme. Preparations for the bash first began on Friday (May 8, 2012), with a huge rental truck entering the actor’s compound followed by a van loaded with orchids.

The ‘Magic Mike’ star ensured none of the guests were late for the ceremony, by erecting huge luxury tents in the garden and having them camp over for the night. According to E! Online, the pre-wedding slumber party tents each had their own air-conditioning unit, patio and doormat. At the reception, guests were treated to a variety of eats from the Brazilian steakhouse Estancia Chirrascaria, including top and bottom steak, chicken wrapped in bacon and sausages with cheese bread. The guest list was kept firmly under wraps, though it is understood the couple were joined by their 4-year-old son Levi and 2-year-old daughter Vida.
Hollywood actor MCConaughey first met the Brazilian model Alves in 2007. He popped the question on Christmas Day 2011. At the time, he told Twitter followers, “Just asked camila to marry me, merry Christmas”.
