Simon Cowell to return on Britain’s Got Talent

After the departure of Michael McIntyre and David Hasselhoff from Britain’s Got Talent, ITV have announced that Simon Cowell will in fact be returning.

He sat on the judging panel for the final week of shows last year, but it has been confirmed that he will be back as a full-time panellist for the 2012 series.

On the back of a disappointing run of ratings for both BGT and this year’s X Factor, Cowell is reportedly keen to resume his rightful place as head judge and hopefully, his spot back on top ratings-wise.

“Simon’s been focusing on US X Factor and viewing figures for his British shows have fallen. He won’t take chances with BGT,” explained a source.

It has not been confirmed whether or not veteran judge Amanda Holden will be returning, however with the arrival of her new baby, rumours have been rife about a possible replacement. Eastenders actress Samantha Womack and Cowell’s former fellow judge Danni Minogue, are amongst those thought to be considered.
